Yesterday I stepped on the bus and the driver had your eyes. This is the final piece of evidence that your folks are from here. Ten years you've slept in my arms and you still can't tell the colour of my eyes. This is the continual patience that I stock for you to fear. True, genes don't fuss, don't skive, they do not let lies pass or fight them, they do not deceive nor do they delude. And this time, the shock, the fright that go with these truths, do not undermine or kill my insights; instead I conclude that it is you that most sights must fill with dread.
