The candle and its light
A candle is left burning on the old oak table.
The wick is of thread or cord.
Similar to a book,
it is silent yet luminous in every aspect,
in its every word.
Darkness becomes day.
A shimmering light it gives to the night.
It feels so right.
The flame is of orange and blue.
It dances and prances so true.
Yesterday the candle was the path.
The nights were grey, it lead the way.
Here and there, through and fro one would go.
A candle may flicker all day and all night,
whether one is near, afar or out of sight.
A candle is life.
Celebration, relaxation, imagination.
In times of sorrow
A candle is faith, hope, reflection
The candle burns at both ends.
The wax melts so solemnly,
leaving remnants and fragrance.
The candle disintegrates,
its scented beauty does not dissipate.
It enriches, it empowers, it elevates.
Like love, the candle burns.
enriched, when ignited.
It is now tomorrow the flame is extinguished,
day turns to night once again
